From "Have to" to "Get to."
A few months ago I spoke with a long-time member of our church. He had just been diagnosed with a terminal illness and his time on earth wasn't long. His first statement after explaining his illness was this, "It won't be long before I get to see Jesus". Get to. Those two words "get to" pierced my heart and stirred my soul. Here's a man who is about to pass from this earth and his loved ones and his perspective is I "get to". I long for that kind of hope!
Today we'll look at a piece of God's armor that can turn death from a "have to" to a "get to". It gives us victory when Satan's final weapon is brought against us.

Bruce Feiler, author of "Life is in the Transitions", tells us we experience "Life Disruptors" an average of once every 12-18 months. Life Disruptors are things like getting reassigned at work, child being bullied at school, or moving to a new city or home. He also says we experience "Life Quakes" an average of once every 10-20 years. Life Quakes are things like a loved one dying, a spouse leaving, or a major medical diagnosis. They're more severe in both intensity and duration. They hit harder and last longer.
If you're going through a Life Disruptor or a Life Quake, today's message is for you. We'll discover a piece of armor that helps us remain at peace during these times.
